Stadia End of various voices from overseas developers -Some developers learned 2 hours after applying for the STADIA version release
Google's cloud gaming STADIA announced the service end on January 18, 2023. Following the end of the service, various game developers have responded.
TOM VIA, a developer of SFB Games, who had been released two days after the release of the Stadia version of the reasoning adventure TANGLE TOWER, reported the end of the service in the media report and was upset. Simon Roth, a developer of the colony architectural simulation MAIN, lamented that the work for several months was going to the trash.
Division of the RPG DEMONSCHOOL developer MICROSOFT GAMES Director Brandon Sheffield, which was scheduled to be exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2022, commented that STADIA's development was the highest. We ask that the Steam version should be included in the wish list, as it has become more difficult to collect the development costs in Hyper Gun sport, which is scheduled to be released soon.
In addition, Mike Rose of Developer No More Robots and REBECCA Hangman, the development staff of The Bard's Tale III: Thief of Fate, reported that the game will be released in STADIA in November. Mike Rose has revealed that there is no contact from Google (as of September 30). Pixel Games seems to have seen the news of the service end only two hours later, just two hours after finishing the processing to put out some games in STADIA.
Some major game developers have responded to some of them, and commented that IO Interactive is looking for a way to take over play data to other platforms for users playing the Hitman series to Stadia. Bungee has promised to provide information again in the future, saying that Destiny2 has begun discussions for the next step.
