Can a web browser be a business space?

As Microsoft provided a group collaboration space to the edge browser, the competition for browser's work tools began in earnest.

Recently, Microsoft has released a private preview of the edge workspace function.

Microsoft continues to add collaborative functions not only to Tim's and Outlook but also to edge browsers.

The Edge Work Space offers a similar feature to Google Chrome's Tab Group. It's similar in that you can tie multiple tabs, but focused more on collaboration. The user group that shares the browser tab can see the same website and file set at the same location. Links and files in the workspace are opened in real time as a browser tab.

The user can share the edge workspace itself without sending a link to a colleague by email or by chatting.

Edge Work Space is only available to corporate users. It will be officially provided to both companies and general consumers from next year. General users can also work on travel or organizational activities as an edge workplace.

This feature was found in the 2021 Edge Canary Build. This feature was removed from the edge last year, but the workspace clues appeared in another Atari Build in March of this year.

Workers in the IT sector spend more than 50% of the computing time in the browser, Microsoft said. The browser is no longer a browser, but a center of digital work.

Microsoft also introduced the sidebar of the edge browser. Create a panel on the right side of the browser so that you can easily access the popular app. You can show the shortcuts of apps such as Outlook and Office in the sidebar, and you can send mail directly using Outlook. The sidebar can be hidden, and the IT administrator can use the group policy to optimize the sidebar of the entire member.

Microsoft has also enhanced the edge's accessibility. 'Live Caption', which shows subtitles in real time in audio or videos played by the browser, 'Simple 닶' where you can find and search for answers by asking questions on the address bar, and users who are sensitive to bright colors or difficult to recognize certain colors 'Page color', which can customize the web page color scheme, and the 'automatic image description' that shows information by reading text and images of the web page.

The security function of the edge has also been enhanced. The website address is provided to reduce typos when creating a website address URL. If you enter the URL of a famous site incorrectly and move to a fraudulent site, you will be guided to move to a legal site. When discovering typos, a warning is displayed on the entire screen and guided by the user to the intended website.

Last year, the 'Folk Sign Service Domain' feature was added to the Microsoft Peruvian DLP, which was built into Windows 10, Windows 11, Office, and Edge.

The 'sensitive service domain' can define IT administrators from capturing or printing web pages, including sensitive information. Defining URL leak control will not be able to copy or print data types such as financial records, customer information, and patient data. However, it only works if you approach the site with an edge browser.
